Building on the Cogburn Reputation since 1939
In 1929 Mrs. Maude Roberts Cogburn graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Mobile. From the stock market crash in 1929 through the 10 years of the Great Depression, Mrs. Cogburn was a private duty nurse. It was during these years she developed a preference and skill for care of the elderly
On the eve of World War II in 1939, Mrs. Cogburn leased a house in downtown Mobile where she cared for a small number of patients that required 24-hour nursing. From that humble beginning, Mrs. Cogburn's vision has grown through three generations. For nearly 70 years, the Cogburn family has owned and operated rehabilitation and long-term care facilities and has maintained the dedication and spirit of Mrs. Cogburn's original commitment.
