Welcome to Cogburn Health and Rehabilitation Centers
With three health centers in Mobile and one in Huntsville, Alabama, Cogburn Health and Rehabilitation Centers are long-term leaders in providing rehabilitation services and long-term care in our communities.
We believe that quality of life and quality of care are closely linked. We strive to create warm and home-like environments in each of our facilities while maintaining the most professional and expert level of care.
In 1929 Mrs. Maude Roberts Cogburn graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Mobile. From the stock market crash in 1929 through the 10 years of the Great Depression, Mrs. Cogburn was a private duty nurse. It was during these years she developed a preference and skill for care of the elderly.
On the eve of World War II in 1939, Mrs. Cogburn leased a house in downtown Mobile where she cared for a small number of patients that required 24-hour nursing. From that humble beginning, Mrs. Cogburn's vision has grown through three generations. For nearly 70 years, the Cogburn family has owned and operated rehabilitation and long-term care facilities and has maintained the dedication and spirit of Mrs. Cogburn's original commitment.
Building on the cogburn reputation since 1939
We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. Policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the Nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
Each Cogburn Health and Rehabilitation Center is a separate and independent Alabama corporation.
